Support

Who I See

I offer virtual therapy, allowing you to connect from the comfort and privacy of your own home. I’m licensed in both Colorado and Iowa and welcome clients residing in either state. I work with individuals from pre-teen years through older adulthood, tailoring care to meet you wherever you are in life.

My Approach

I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy.  One where your goals are at the fore-front of our work together.  I love walking through life with my clients and being able to see the growth, relief, and joy my clients feel as they make progress towards their goals.

Areas of Focus

I specialize in anxiety and related concerns, including Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Agoraphobia, Panic Disorder, Specific Phobias, and Social Anxiety. Many people I work with are also navigating overlapping challenges like ADHD, autism, depression, chronic pain or illness, health anxiety, sleep difficulties, and more.

Evidence Based Approach

I offer an evidence based approach to treatment utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) while also incorporating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and solution focused approaches.

Our Work Together

My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, understood, and supported. Together, we’ll gently explore what’s been weighing on you and find practical, meaningful ways to help you feel more at ease, more confident, and more like yourself again.

Therapy Approaches

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

CBT is a structured, goal-oriented approach to treating various mental health conditions.  It has been proven to be effective in clients with anxiety or other related disorders.  CBT is based on the premise that psychological problems are partly rooted in faulty or unhelpful ways of thinking and learned patterns of behavior.  It aims to help individuals recognize and change these patterns, leading to improved emotional well-being and functioning.

Exposure and Response Prevention

ERP is a type of CBT and is the gold standard in treatment of OCD.  The exposure component refers to practicing confronting the thoughts, images, objects, and situations that make you anxious and/or provoke your obsessions.  While also practicing response prevention to make the choice not to do a compulsive behavior once the anxiety or obsessions have been “triggered.”  This may seem scary or overwhelming, but with the support and encouragement of a therapist we move through this process in a very thoughtful and motivating way.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

ACT emphasizes acceptance to deal with negative thoughts, feelings, symptoms, or circumstances.  It encourages increased commitment to healthy, constructive activities that uphold your values and goals. The goal of ACT is not to reduce the frequences or severity of unpleasant internal experiences but rather to reduce your struggle to control or eliminate these experiences while increasing your involvement in meaningful life activities.

Mindfulness and Solution Focused Therapy

Mindfulness is the practice of being fully present and aware of your current experience, fostering a non-judgmental awareness of thoughts, feelings, and surroundings. Solution Focused Therapy is a an approach that emphasizes the clients’ strengths and resources to create positive change, focusing on present and future goals rather than past problems.  It’s brief, goal oriented, and emphasizes solutions rather than delving into underlying issues.
