Meet Amy

Hi, I’m Amy, therapist and founder of Alpine Calm Wellness.

I help people who feel stuck in anxiety spirals or caught in OCD loops finally breathe again.  If your brain won’t turn off, if intrusive thoughts feel loud and convincing, or if you’re exhausted trying to “just relax”…you’re not alone.  And you’re not broken.

I specialize in anxiety and OCD using evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).  That means we don’t just talk about your fears – we build real tools and slowly retrain your brain so anxiety doesn’t run the show anymore.

Therapy with me is collaborative, practical, and real.  We’ll laugh sometimes.  We’ll do hard things sometimes.  We’ll build resilience and confidence one step at a time.  Growth can feel uncomfortable.  It can feel like hiking uphill.  But, the view from the top is worth it.

I graduated from the University of Iowa in 2003 with a BA in Psychology.  Go Hawks!  After graduating, I worked in a substance abuse treatment facility and learned that I wanted to further my education.  I completed a Masters in Social Work through the University of Northern Iowa in 2007 and after completing clinical supervision, became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  Since graduating, I have had the opportunity to work in various settings including: private practice, hospitals/clinics, hospice, schools, community-based crisis intervention.  I have worked with pre-teens all the way up to older adults.

Outside the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my family and my dog, hiking, camping, exploring new places, snowboarding, or deep in a crafting project.  Nature keeps me grounded.  Adventure reminds me that discomfort doesn’t mean danger, it means growth.  That mindset shows up in my work, too.

At Alpine Calm Wellness, the goal isn’t to eliminate every anxious thought.  It’s to help you feel steady, capable, and aligned, even when life feels uncertain.

If you ‘re ready to feel more calm, more confident, and more you, I’d love to work together.
